Optimal adaptive beamforming for wideband LFM signals based on integer time delay

现有宽带波束形成方法的多维处理使得计算量剧增。针对这一问题, 对于宽带线性调频(linear frequency modulation, LFM)信号, 提出一种只需整数倍时延补偿无需时域加权的宽带最优自适应波束形成算法。通过对期望信号和干扰经整数时延处理后信号形式的分析, 推导出统一导向向量表达式和方向图计算公式, 并基于该导向向量表达式对期望信号建立频率响应一致性约束以保证无失真输出, 且对于不能直接获得干扰加噪声协方差矩阵的场景, 给出该矩阵重构方法, 分析采样频率对算法性能的影响。与常规方法相比, 该方法具有无需预处理、无需时域加权、波束形成性能较好等特点。

Abstract:

The multidimensional processing of the existing wideband beamforming methods makes the computational volume increase dramatically. To address this problem, a wideband optimal adaptive beamforming algorithm is proposed for wideband linear frequency modulation (LFM) signals that only requires integer time delay compensation without time domain weighting. By analyzing the signal form of the desired signal and the interference signal after integer time delay processing, the unified guiding vector expression and the direction map formula are derived, and based on the guiding vector expression, the frequency response consistency constraint is established for the desired signal to ensure the distortion-free output, and for the scenarios in which the interference plus noise covariance matrix cannot be obtained directly, the matrix reconstruction method is given, and the effect of sampling frequency on the performance of the algorithm is also analyzed. Compared with the conventional methods, this method is characterized by no preprocessing, no time-domain weighting, and better beamforming performance.
