Abstract:

Airborne broadband radar has higher range resolution, which is conducive to target imaging or recognition. However, higher resolution also makes the range migration between the array elements and/or pulses of the target signal and clutter signal more obvious. If the narrowband space-time adaptive processing is performed, the output signal-to-noise ratio is seriously reduced. To solve this problem, an data reorganization space-time adaptive processing method for airborne broadband radar is proposed. Firstly, the echo data is reorganized according to the velocity-angle to be detected, so that the target signal envelopes of different pulses and different array elements are aligned. Then, the range-dimension reorganization space-time processing is performed, and the output signal is used as the test statistics data. Finally, the target angle and velocity search method are given. This method reduces the target energy loss of coherent accumulation. The performance of target detection and clutter suppression is improved. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
