Subarray lever adaptive processing for polarization array with mutual coupling

Abstract:

Mutual coupling effect makes subarray level multi-channel signals no longer satisfy the ideal amplitude-phase relationship, resulting in a significant degradation in the performance of subarray level adaptive processing based on ideal steering vectors. Aiming at this problem, an adaptive processing method for polarization arrays at subarray level based on active element pattern is proposed. This method establishes compensation vectors by using active element patterns, and performs mutual coupling compensation on subarray channel data. To reduce the requirement for a priori active element patterns, it is proposed to select angles not less than the number of subarrays in the beam scanning airspace, and reconstruct compensation vectors only by using the active element patterns at the selected angles. Simulations prove that this method can improve the interference suppression performance of array adaptive processing.
