Joint estimation method of DOA and polarization parameters based on broadband coherent signals

Abstract:

Aiming at the problem of joint estimation of direction of arrival (DOA) and polarization parameters in broadband coherent signals, a low complexity parameter estimation method is proposed. Firstly, the received signal of circular array is smoothed by axial virtual translation. Secondly, the smoothed autocorrelation matrix is focused. Then, the polarization DOA matrix is constructed by combining the focused autocorrelation matrix and the smoothed cross covariance matrix. Then, the DOA and polarization parameters of incident signals are solved by closed form through eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the matrix. The proposed algorithm realizes the automatic pairing of estimated parameters, does not need spectral peak search and has a small amount of calculation. It only needs three array elements to realize parameter estimation, which can save hardware resources. The simulation results verify the feasibility of the algorithm from three aspects: complexity, effectiveness and robustness.
