Abstract:

The passive radar based on global navigation satellite system (GNSS) is a hot spot in the current radar field. Firstly, a forward scatter radar (FSR) net model with GNSS as the radiation source is proposed. The estimation technique of the kinematic parameters of a moving target using only the time of target crossing baselines is realized, and the minimum network configuration is proved theoretically. Then, the accuracy of parameter estimation is derived, and the influence of crossing time error, station location error, transmitting/receiver layout, and target height on the accuracy of target parameter estimation are analyzed by simulation. The simulation results show that considering the actual parameter measurement error and station location error conditions, the target position estimation error can reach the order of 100 meters, which can meet the early warning requirements. The obtained conclusions can provide a reference for the construction of the FSR net in the mode of sky transmitting and earth receiving.
