Abstract:

The main-lobe deceptive jammers, which have the same angle as the true target, cannot be distinguished in the spatial domain with the traditional phased array radar system, reducing the performance of target detection seriously. To solve this problem, the method to suppress the mainlobe deceptive jammers based on secondary compensation is proposed with the frequency diversity array multiple input multiple output (FDA-MIMO) radar. Firstly, the forward compensation is performed to the principle range, and the backward compensation is implemented to the range frequency. Hence, the main-lobe deceptive jammers are equivalently moved to the sidelobes of the beampattern. Then, the jammer covariance matrix is obtained by selecting the samples resorting to the singular spectrum analysis technique. Finally, the jammers can be suppressed with adaptive beamforming. The effectiveness of the proposed jammer suppression method is verified by simulation results.
