Abstract:

Aiming at the problem that multiple input multiple output (MIMO) radar cannot perform regular sparse array in the application of motion platforms, and the traditional sparse array optimization design method can only optimize one object, an array structure optimization method based on multi-objective evolutionary algorithm (MOEA) is proposed. The sidelobe levels of sum beam and difference beam of MIMO radar are taken as optimization objectives, so that the system has the best possible sum beam and difference beam sidelobe suppression performance. Simulation results show that the optimal design of MIMO radar sparse array based on MOEA with Pareto rank sorting can improve various performance of the system.

Key words: multiple input multiple output (MIMO) radar, sparse array, sum and difference beamforming, multi-objective evolutionary algorithm (MOEA)
