Abstract:

Due to the limitation of antenna array rotation and electron beam offset for the rotating phased array radar, the target being tracked can not be illuminated by the line period of about 66.7% per day. The adaptive variable updata rate tracking algorithm which can be continuously selected is not suitable for rotating phased array radar. On the basis of Cohen's research, a discrete variable updata rate tracking algorithm for rotating phased array radar target tracking is proposed. The algorithm estimates the motion state in rectangular coordinate system, calculates the tracking residual in spherical coordinate system, normalizes the residual error by measuring noise, and determines the sampling period of the next cycle according to the relative position between the antenna normal direction and the target at the current sampling time, so as to avoid the problem of complex calculation of process noise. Finally, a circular maneuvering target is taken as an example to verify the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
