Acoustic passive localization algorithm and its performance analysis based on spatial cross array

Abstract: The accuracy of angle and range estimation of the acoustic localization method based on linear and plane cross sensor array is influenced by target azimuth and elevation angle.An acoustic localization method using spatial seven-element cross array is introduced.The localization equations are derived,and the performance is analyzed.The algorithm improves the precision of the elevation angle estimation.The research results are helpful for the acoustic array system design in the practical applications.
