Abstract:

Addressing the issue of limited beam-forming quantity due to the fixed occupation of array resources in traditional full-airspace phased array beam-forming methods, a beam-forming method based on opportunistic dynamic reuse of array resources is proposed. Firstly, the beam-forming mechanism of traditional full-airspace phased array is analyzed to explore the spatial degrees of freedom of the array, and an opportunistic utilization approach is proposed for array resources. Then, by adding element conflict constraints during the allocation process of array resources, the opportunistic beam-forming process is modeled as a two-dimensional allocation problem of array resources in both time and space, and solved using a differential evolution algorithm. Simulation results show that under the configuration of 80 low-Earth orbit satellites, the proposed opportunistic beam-forming method can increase the number of simultaneously formed beams by 200%, and enhance the satisfaction rate of telemetry, tracking and control (TT&C) tasks by up to 53%, indicating that the proposed method can achieve significant improvements in both the number of instantaneous beams and the task satisfaction rate of full-airspace phased arrays.

Key words: full-airspace phased array, beam-forming, array resource
