Abstract:

The multiple input multiple output (MIMO) sparse array can get the largest continual virtual aperture, however, it is unable to be used in some applications such as the airborne radar due to the limitation of space. The simulated annealing is applied to the synthesis of virtual arrays in order to reduce the peaks of sidelobes and optimize the mainlobe by acting on the elements’ positions of transmitting and receiving arrays. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
