Efficient calculation method of phase characteristics of defocusing feed in compact antenna test range

Abstract:

It is of great practical value to study the efficient calculation method of phase characteristics of defocusing feed in compact antenna test range (CATR). Based on the geometrical optics (GO) which is applicable to high frequency conditions, and according to the basic law of light propagation, the fast calculation formulas of quiet zone phase for single rotating paraboloid and dual parabolic cylinder can be obtained through the derivation of optical path difference in three dimensional space. The comparison results between calculation simulation and measurement show that they are consistent with each other, and the timeliness of defocusing feed model analysis of phase in CATR is improved on the premise of ensuring the calculation accuracy, which can be used to guide the design, on-site installation and debugging of high-frequency feed in CATR.
