Abstract: The frequency diverse array adds the frequency increment which is much smaller than the carrier frequency, and makes the spatial distribution of the beampattern related to the distance and angle. Based on the basic structure of the frequency diverse array, two kinds of receiving signal processing mechanisms are introduced, and theoretical analysis is carried out. The simulation results show that both of them can receive signals effectively. In order to solve the problem of main lobe migration caused by steering vector mismatch, recursive least squares (RLS) beamforming algorithm is adopted. The simulation results show that, in the presence of pointing errors, the algorithm can form a main lobe at the target position and a null at the interference position in both mechanisms, which verifies the robustness of the algorithm in the application of frequency diverse array.
