Abstract:

In the process of satellite emergency recovery, it is necessary to determine the rotation angle of solar cell array relative to satellite body to control its sun orientation. For this purpose, a solar cell array rotation angle estimation method for satellite emergency recovery is proposed. Firstly, the analytical solution of solar cell array rotation angle is given by using the relationship between satellite body coordinate frame and solar cell array coordinate frame and the satellite attitude kinematics equation. Based on the determined analytical solution of solar cell array rotation angle, a Kalman filtering-based estimation approach is further proposed to attenuate the influence of measurement noises of sun sensor and improve the estimation accuracy of rotation angle. The effectiveness and validity of the proposed method are demonstrated by numerical simulations and the experiment on telemetry data of an on-orbit practical satellite.
