Abstract: Aiming at multiple moving targets with slow fluctuations,a method of coherent signal processing for multiple input multiple ontput(MIMO) radars based on transmitting diversity is studied, and a parameter estimation algorithm reusing echo signals is proposed. The transmitting antennas are widely spaced to satisfy the demands of spatial diversity with respect to the targets, while the receiver is a uniform linear array(ULA) with an interval of half-wavelength between array elements. After processing the echo signals along each range gate by a pulse compression-Capon estimation algorithm, the preliminary information resulted from various transmitting array elements corresponding to the different targets are acquired. Then, using the echo signal and the preliminary information of target positions once again, the pulse compression data vectors generated from various transmitting array elements corresponding to the same target are added via Doppler frequency shift and phase compensation. Finally, the highly precise estimation of target azimuths is obtained by processing the added pulse compression data vector with Capon algorithm again.Simulations show that the algorithm is effective for moving multi-targets localization and has high localization precision.
