Abstract: Space time coding array (STCA) radar introduces a relative time shift through elements, which can form a wide beam with full angular coverages by transmitting a single waveform. Based on the spacetime coding array radar system, a superresolvable angle estimation algorithm in beamspace by using the degreesoffreedom in transmit domain is proposed. Initially, by analyzing the multidimensional ambiguity function, the twodimensional angletime matched filter is designed in the receiver. As a result, multiple beams can be equivalently formed in the receiver which can acquire controllable transmit freedoms. Then, the corresponding search steering vector in beamspace is devised. Finally, the beamspace MUSIC algorithm is adopted to make spatial spectrum estimation on equivalent transmitter in STCA. The simulation results can demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
