Abstract:

The radar and communication integration system can share the same electronic appliance and save the power resource. A kind of waveform for integrated wideband radar and communication system is proposed to implement radar imaging and data communication at the same time, which is named as random modulated linear frequency stepped chirp signal. This waveform makes use of the high degree design flexibility of random stepped linear frequency modulated signal, and communication and address information is modulated on the carrier frequency and frequency rate respectively, which accomplishes the point to multi-point communication. Secondly, communication performance indexes, such as channel capacity, orthogonality of different access signal and receiver error probability are analyzed and calculated. Thirdly, random coding on the communication data is put forward to solve the problem occurred in radar imaging, which is implemented by using the statistic correlation method, and the effect of some parameters on radar imaging result is deduced. Finally, simulations and analysis results prove its validation in the radar and communication system.
