Abstract:

Research show that the output of fiber optic gyroscope (FOG) contains lowfrequency oscillation errors which can significantly influence the stability of gyrocompassing alignment. In order to eliminate the negative effect of gyroscope oscillation errors on azimuth alignment, frequency domain analysis method is used to analyze the frequency characteristics of gyrocompassing alignment system. In addition, the impacts of gyroscope oscillation error of different frequencies are introduced. Finally, a design approach of gyrocompassing parameter is introduced. The theoretical analysis and experimental results show that the impacts of oscillation errors can be effectively restricted by utilizing this approach.
