Abstract:

Aimed at traditional broadband beamspace adaptive arrays suffer performance degradation in the presence of errors between the actual and presumed array direction of the desired signal, a novel approach is proposed, which emphasizes the robustness to the errors mentioned above. The proposed algorithm using the character of constant can receive the broadband signal without signal distortion when the direction of the desired signal is unknown. The beamformer forms the beams which can exhibit the frequency invariant property and be linearly independent firstly, and the optimal weight from the output of the beams is computed by utilizing the constant modulus property. The proposed algorithm has not only the robustness to the error but also a fast converge rate. The computer simulation results demonstrate its validity and superiority.
