Abstract:

A motion parameter estimation method by fitting the phase history of the moving target is proposed for airborne dualchannel SAR systems. The crosstrack velocity, alongtrack velocity, crosstrack acceleration and alongtrack acceleration can be estimated, respectively. For the moving target with high signalclutternoiseratio (SCNR), the analytic expressions of motion parameter estimation are derived by the phase relationship between two spatial channels. For the moving target with low SCNR, the motion parameters can be estimated by the phase history together with the relationship between the real synthetic aperture time and these parameters after clutter rejection. Since the phase fitting operation is performed only on the received echo of the moving target, the proposed algorithm has a low computational load and can be widely used in practice. The validity is verified by simulated and real data processing.
