Abstract:

A kind of active guidance radar based on the phased array with polarization diversity and its signal design problem is studied. The design idea of antenna array with polarization diversity and the radar system structure are introduced. For the designed radar transmitted signal, the linear frequency modulation (LFM) signal or the phase coded signal is adopted and the time domain waveform and polarization states can be changed simultaneously among pulse groups. The pulse compression technique is used to improve the detection range and range resolution, the pulse compression and orthogonal polarization coded technique are combined in order to improve the low probability of interception (LPI) performance effectively, and the polarization estimation and detection technique are adopted to improve the antijamming ability. The mathematical model of dual polarization transmitted signal is formulated, the processing method of dual polarization echo signal is discussed and the antijamming ability is simulated. The research results reveal that the novel guidance radar system has strong ability to suppress the frequency shift interference and time delay interference, so it has good performances in modern electronic warfare.
