Abstract:

The direction detection performance of the traditional direction of arrival(DOA) estimation algorithm based on a uniform circular array is limited to the aperture of array and requires more antennas than targets. In order to solve this problem, a new algorithm which uses array basic-line rotation for multi targets estimation is proposed. Received data of the array unit are sampled by rotating the basic-line of two antenna array units and using fixed time delay. The utilization rate of the array unit is increased and the DOA estimation accuracy is improved by using two array units to achieve multi position observation. Computer simulation shows that this algorithm can achieve multi-targets direction by using two array units. Its direction detection performance is equal to that of the traditional multiple signal classfication (MUSIC) based on the uniform five circular arrays, which has advantages of good robustness on multi-channel phase inconsistence.
