Abstract:

An integrate quadratic phase function based signal detection and parameter estimation algorithm is proposed to investigate the interception problem of polyphase codes, P1, P2, P3, P4, and Frank, referred to as frequencyderived codes, which are widely used in low probability of intercept radar applications. The polyphase-coded signal’s quadratic phase function has its energy concentrated along a ridge that runs parallel with the axis of time, which is used by the integrate quadratic phase function to detection the signal. The sweep rate estimates can be obtained as a byproduct of the detection algorithm. The detection performance is evaluated by using the output signal-to-noise ratio, the receiver operating characteristics graphs, and the detection performance graph. The computer simulations are used to evaluate the parameter estimation performance of the proposed algorithm.
