Abstract: The bistatic multi-frequency Multiple-Input Multiple-Output(MIMO) radar uses sparse-array to transmit the frequency modulated continuous wave(FMCW) signal of multiple carrier frequencies and uses an array to receive the echoes. The signal model of a bistatic multi-frequency MIMO radar is analyzed in this paper.A method combining discrete polynomial-phase transform with dechirping is presented to estimate the movement parameter of targets, which reduces the computational complexity dramatically.A new method for multi-frequency MIMO radar is presented to resolve the velocity ambiguity problem.Being Simple and easy to implement, this method can obtain a high-accuracy estimation of velocity. The simulation indicates that the method presented in this paper can estimate the movement parameters of targets effectively.
