Abstract:

Passive radar uses signals emitted from third-party transmitting stations with known location information as irradiation sources to detect and locate moving targets. However, in practical applications, the precise location information of the transmitting station is often difficult to beobtained in advance, which makes it difficult for the rapid application of passive radar in unknown environments. To solve the problem, unmanned aerial vehicles with known trajectories are used as cooperative targets. Using the unmanned aerial vehicle position information acquired in real time, a direct target localization model when the launch station location is unknown is developed. And the cost function based on the target location is further constructed to achieve accurate estimation of the transmitting station location. The method not only overcomes the deficiency of information loss in the commonly used two-step localization algorithm and can achieve higher localization accuracy, but also utilizes passive radar direct wave signal, which has better performance than the traditional direct localization method. Finally, the effectiveness of the algorithm is verified by simulation.
