Abstract:

In view of the fact that basic function has single-fixed threshold and does not take the system’s output into account in the conventional transform domain communication system, so a new optimal method is provided to design double-threshold basic function. Through setting high and low threshold properly, the dynamic formula between basic function amplitude and jam amplitude is determined. The new variable probability of bit error to output capacity ratio (PCR) is defined as the ratio of the bit error rate to output capacity, and is used to evaluate the communication system’s performance comprehensively. Through theoretical analysis, the general expression for PCR is derived from double thresholds. The optimal model is designed and the traversing method is adopted to search the best solution. Simulation results show that the doublethreshold optimization can obviously inform the performance in comparison with conventional static threshold, which achieves the best tradeoff between the bit error rate and output capacity.
