Abstract:

The clutter has range dependence for forward looking radars in short range gate. If these data are directly used to estimate the clutter covariance matrix, the ground moving target indication (GMTI) performance is likely to descend. To deal with this problem, a new method based on least square is proposed. The method transforms the short range clutter by using a least square method. The method does not need to know the prior parameters of a radar but still has robustness in factual environment with uncertain errors. The results from experiments show the validity of the method.
