Abstract:

A method to design the threshold of a basis function for transform domain communication systems (TDCS) which has an optimal bit error ratio (BER) performance is proposed. With the coexistence of jamming, the components of the basis function modulated signal and the demodulated signals are studied, and then the relationship between the BER and the threshold of basis function is derived. Based on the principle of minimizing the BER, the optimal BER problem is solved by the ergodic search of the threshold to obtain the optimal threshold of the basis function. Simulation results show that the BER of the system provided by the proposed method achieves the solution of global optimization. The method is suitable for the threshold design of basis functions under different kinds of jamming, and has lower computational complexity.
