Abstract:

With the rapid advancement of space technology, space-based radar (SBR) system becomes a important technology for global surveillance and strategic early warning. However, SBR system still face many technical challenges in the early warning and surveillance (EWS) task of space targets in the space environment. In recent years, extensive research has been conducted on the system design and key technologies of space-based radar, resulting in numerous research achievements in areas such as large-scale deployable antenna technology, detection and tracking technology in space environments, data processing and information transmission links, and space-based sensor scheduling. This paper introduces the development trajectory of key SBR technologies, from the earliest missile early warning satellites to the current multifunctional integrated surveillance systems, and systematically reviews the main research content and progress in tasks oriented towards detection, tracking, inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging, radar networking and resource allocation, providing a vertical and horizontal comparative perspective for the study of key technologies of SBR for space EWS tasks. On the basis of current research, the advantages and challenges of SBR system is further analyzed, and potential research directions and future development trends in the EWS tasks of space-based radar are proposed.

Key words: space-based radar (SBR), space target surveillance, early warning and surveillance (EWS) task, radar mission requirement
