Abstract:

In order to master radar cross section (RCS) characteristics of corner reflectors totally and deeply, a mixed algorithm based on physical optics (PO) and area projection (AP) is proposed. After constructing the RCS model for trihedral corner reflectors based on the PO/AP algorithm, RCS characteristics of trihedral corner reflectors are researched, including the form and the size of the corner reflector, and azimuth angle, pitch angle, frequency and polarization mode of incident waves. At the same time, three reflector types are analyzed separately. Finally, the efficiency of the algorithm is validated by FEKO simulation. The result shows that the algorithm proposed is an effective means to RCS model construction and analysis for corner reflectors. Besides precise calculation accuracy, it can significantly improve the RCS prediction efficiency for corner reflectors.
