Abstract: The two-dimension space variation in large observing scenes and long synthetic aperture time of geosynchronous synthetic aperture radar (GEO SAR) will influence the focus depth in two dimensions. We proposed a 2-D singular value decomposition (SVD) imaging method for GEO SAR. First, the coupling feature between range and Doppler can be obtained by decomposing the range variant signal, and the coupling can be corrected by range frequency interpolation and resampling. Second, the Doppler can be separated from the azimuth variation by decomposing the azimuth variant signal, a tandem SVD-NCS interpolation is used to correct the azimuth variation and focus the entire scene. Finally, the validity of the proposed method is verified by the simulation results.
