Abstract:

According to the spatial correlation property of sea clutter in the X-band marine radar images, a method for detecting co-channel interference noise is presented. First, the appropriate threshold is determined by the constant false alarm rate method and the method of correlation coefficient is used to detect the specific location of the interference noise line in the radar images, and then, the modified Laplace linear template is adopted to locate the interference noise points only for these lines and interpolate these points linearly with the segment part to filter out the noise. The algorithm is validated by using the real radar data and compared with the mean filtering and median filtering algorithms. The result shows that this method is simple and rapid since it can effectively filter the co-channel interference noise and retain the original wave echo information under high oceanic conditions, and it meets the requirement of the waves information inversion to the quality of the received signal; under low sea state, the algorithm can effectively filter the cochannel interference noise too.
