Abstract:

Evaluation of support effectiveness is the base for formulating the plan of spare parts. For the evaluation of support effectiveness under limited maintenance capability during the mission, an approximate evaluation method of availability for multi-indenture partial repairable spares is proposed. At first, partial repairable spares are converted to non-repairable spares by omitting repair time. Then all the nontopindenture spares are converted to topindenture ones by simulating the entire process of maintenance and replacement. Finally, the computational model of availability is obtained based on the additive property of gamma distribution. In an actual example compared with simulation results, the approximate algorithm owns high precision when the values of repair time is not too big or the spares are adequate, which can meet high availability demands during the mission.
