Abstract:

The cascading failures for the inter-domain routing system is researched. Based on the analysis of cascading behaviors for the inter-domain routing system, an cascading failure model for the inter-domain routing system is proposed. By introducing node’s IRS betweenness which is consistent with the inter-domain routing system, node’s initial load is defined. In order to simulate the real situation of the system, node’s restart delay and BGP update alive delay are introduced. Finally, by analyzing the difference between IRS betweenness with other node’s measurements, the impact on cascading failures of different model parameters is investigated. Moreover, research findings will provide useful guidance and reference for analyzing and improving the security of the inter-domain routing system.
