Abstract:

Attitude perturbation of the dynamic radar target is the major cause in radar cross section (RCS) differences between static and dynamic systems. The perturbation factors are usually complicated and unpredic table, which aggravate the difficulty of target dynamic RCS characteristic research. A simulation platform based on the combination of graphical electromagnetic computing (GRECO) and Monte Carlo simulation methods is proposed, which uses random variables with uniform distribution to model the attitude perturbation. The concept and computation methods of dynamic RCS credibility zone and expected value are demonstrated according to the pattern of RCS differences between quasi static and perturbed attitudes. The aircraft with two kinds of motion models is taken to validate the proposed platform. Simulation results are compared with the one from the practical attitude perturbation model. Conclusions validate the feasibility of the proposed method, which enhances the simulation capability of GRECO and provides the effective solution to the target electromagnetic scattering characteristic data consistency evaluation in addition to the attitude sensitivity analysis.
