Abstract:

Inherent Doppler blind zone (DBZ) in airborne early warning radar can cause the termination of target tracks and a repeated count of tracks. Aiming at solving this problem, a particle filter algorithm based on the joint state constraints combining the bearing information of ESM and DBZ information is proposed. In the prediction process of this algorithm, the particles in DBZ are constrained, and the particles which do not satisfy the constraints are projected onto the constraint region surface. Finally, these particles with constraints are used to estimate target states in DBZ and produce a particle cloud association gate to associate the first measurement after the reappearance of the target f〖JP2〗rom DBZ. The simulation results show that compared with the algorithm without any prior information or with only DBZ information, the proposed tracking method has less filtering error and a smaller association gate, and improves the 〖JP〗track quality, which accordingly realizes continuous target tracking.
