Abstract:
A method of X-ray pulsars assisted bi-satellite positioning system (BPS) orbit determination for earth orbit satellites is presented, and an amalgamation equation based on the ranging mode of BPS and time of arrival (TOA) measurement of pulsars emission is constructed and applied to EKF(extend Kalman filter). Simulation experiments with various measurement combination modes are carried out using some kinds of orbit data. The simulation results show that pulsar assistant orbit determination precision can achieve a level of 100 m using one bi-satellite measurement or 50 m using two bi-satellites in the bi-satellite covered region and in uncovered region, the satellite can also use pulsars to determinate orbit coarsely and the autonomy in all orbit periods can be improved.
