Abstract:

To solve the estimation problem of multipath time delay (MTD) which is less than a C/A code chip in the GPS system, a new algorithm of MTD estimation based on constrained incremental Wiener filter is proposed. By utilizing the time-delay priori estimation of GPS C/A codes, the support interval and magnitude constraints are applied to the time-delay estimation and attenuation coefficient estimation in multipath impulse channels, respectively. The subchip MTD can be estimated through an iteration process of the incremental Wiener filter under the constraint conditions. Theoretical analysis and numerical simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has a low temporal and spatial complexity, fast convergence, and high resolution with low SNR.
