Abstract:

This article is concerned with the modified function projective synchronization problem for a four-dimensional chaotic system with unknown parameters. Based on Lyapunov stability theory, Barbalat’s theorem and active control method, the adaptive controllers and the parameter update laws are derived to make the states of two chaotic systems modified function projective synchronized. Then the proposed method is also applied to secure communication through chaotic masking. Numerical simulations are presented to demonstrate the adaptive controllers can realize function projective synchronization, and the information signal can be recovered successfully in secure communication.
