Abstract:

Considering the linear characteristic of spatial distributed targets such as wake vortex, a novel method for linear weak distributed target detection is proposed on the basis of Hough transform. Firstly, the generic principle of line detection by Hough transform is described. The radar echo model of the linear weak distributed target is derived and established. Then the approach to non-coherent accumulation for linear target echo energy in spatial domain by using Hough transform technique is presented. Simulation experiment is performed referring to the typical parameters of a L-band radar system. The simulation results show that the method can effectively detection linear weak distributed targets in noise images. According to the detection results, the target spatial location can be accurately judged by using an inverse Hough transform.
