Abstract:

Nonuniform sampling (NUS) in time domain is introduced to spatial signal processing, and a spatio-temporal cascaded processing with NUS is proposed to estimate direction-of-arrival (DOA) and frequency, which employs one-dimensional (1-D) frequency multiple signal classification (MUSIC) based on virtual array with nonuniform time delay interval and 1-D space MUSIC based on NUS among sensors to jointly estimate DOA and frequency. Owing to inherent anti-aliasing feature of NUS with the random variation in time interval, larger array aperture is available without spatio-temporal ambiguity, which enhances the resolution and estimation accuracy. In addition, the proposed approach is computational efficiency as it needs only 1-D search and no extraneous methods for matching DOA and frequency. Simulation results, furthermore, show that the proposed algorithm is an effective way for far-field sources angle-frequency estimation and capable of improving the estimation performance, especially at low SNR regions.
