Abstract:

A Doppler processing approach based on minimum variance distortionless response (MVDR) and resampling technique is proposed for multifrequency radar signals. At the receiver, the composite return is broken into multiple corresponding individual components, then the resampling technique is innovatively used to obtain much more data samples from these separated components, and thereby an effective data covariance matrix estimate can be achieved. Thus, an MVDR processing based on the data covariance matrix can be employed to accomplish target detection and achieve the Doppler high resolution. The performance is significantly superior to the traditional Fourier analysis method. Simulation results confirm the ability of the proposed approach.
