Abstract:

The problem of electromagnetic wave scattering by two layered media (rough interfaces) is analyzed based on method of moments (MOM) and Kirchhoff approximation (KA). The total field, including the incident and the scattered fields, from the upper interface is solved by MOM, and the electromagnetic wave transmission field from the lower one is expressed from the KA with the tapered wave introduced as the incident wave. The numerical simulations are implemented, and the influences of the relative permittivity, the height root mean square, the correlation length, and the average heights between the two interfaces on the bistatic scattering coefficient are discussed for the Gaussian layered rough surface.
