Abstract: Under certain parameters and working conditions, chaos appears in PMSM which will destroy the stability of motor drive systems. To solve this problem a method is proposed on the basis of non-linear feedback by utilizing sliding mode control to eliminate PMSM chaos. This method takes the voltages of straight-axis and quadrature-axis as feedback control variables, which can steady the motor state at any given value. The proposed method is progressively stable;it overcomes the weaknesses that the control objective is a periodic point or balance point in the chaotic control of motors.Simulation results show that theoretical analysis is proper and the proposed control method is effective.
