Abstract:

A weightcancelled linear parallel interference canceller (WLPIC) on fading channels is presented. Unlike the conventional linear parallel interference canceller (LPIC), WLPIC estimates and cancels the multiple access interference (MAI) for a desired user in a stage through using the weighed factors to weight all the other users’ soft outputs from the previous stage. The weighted factor formula for different stages is derived from the minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion, and the BER performance of WLPIC is discussed. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that WPLIC has robustness to nearfar effect and outperforms LPIC and the MF detector significantly.
