Abstract:

The target total scattering field often contains many different scattering mechanisms. Decomposing different scattering mechanisms will improve the knowledge of electromagnetic scattering for complex targets, and will be of great significance for feature recognition and scattering characteristics control. In this paper, the different scattering mechanisms such as specular scattering and multiple scattering are decomposed based on the physical basis of the arrival of the echoes of the different scattering mechanisms. Finally, several examples are given. From the time-frequency analysis results, radar imaging and radar cross section comparison results, it can be clearly observed that different scattering mechanisms are effectively decomposed, which proves the feasibility and correctness of the proposed method.

Key words: scattering mechanism decomposition, time slot difference, time-frequency analysis, target recognition
