Abstract:

The reliability-maintainability-supportability (RMS) is the foundation of operational effectiveness of an equipment system of systems (SoS). In SoS engineering (SoSE), requirements development process includes capability requirements analysis, architecture development and the demand solution based on the architecture. The RMS demonstration of an equipment SoS is a process of RMS requirements and indicators determination, which also follows this process. Firstly, based on the SoSE requirement development process, we propose an RMS demonstration framework for equipment SoS. Then, based on the quality function deployment, an RMS capability requirement analysis process is described. From the perspective of SoS mission, the mapping model of RMS capability requirement analysis, and RMS capability index solution are proposed. Then, based on the RMS oriented equipment architecture, capability indicators derived from the capability analysis are used, and an RMS simulation framework driven by the department of defense architectural framework is proposed based on the multi-agent simulation technology. Finally, a case of the aircraft carrier support process under typical mission is analyzed.
