Abstract:

To obtain accurate estimation of target direction of arrival in the presence of electronic jamming, an adaptive digital monopulse beamforming algorithm for two dimensional multichannel phased array is proposed. Based on the orthogonality of the planar array antenna pattern, a sum subarray and a deltasubarray are formed along the azimuth (elevation) direction. Through adaptive processing on subarray outputs, nulls can be formed along the orthogonal direction to suppress both mainlobe jamming and sidelobe jamming with the monopulse ratio undistorted along the azimuth (elevation) direction. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the propose method.
