Abstract:

Increasing the load tolerance of nodes is an effective way to improve the robustness of interdependent networks, and a reasonable load tolerance is helpful to reduce the cost. In order to study the relationship between load-tolerance and robustness of interdependent networks and factors influencing load-tolerance, we define two parameters, load tolerance and ratio of high tolerance nodes, and analyze cascading failure of interdependent networks under the influence of load failure and interdependent failure. The results show that there are two thresholds when load-tolerance affects the robustness of interdependent networks, which is mainly affected by average degree of interdependent networks. Additionally, we prove that to increase the tolerance of part of nodes is also feasible to meet the requirement of high robustness. These results can be used as reference when designing resilient interdependent system.
