Abstract:

Aimed at the problems currently in access protocols for terahertz wireless personal area networks (T-WPANs) that slot utilization is relatively low, a high slot utilization access protocol for T-WPANs, HSU-AP, is proposed. Through the scheme, adaptively cancelling contention access period, to increase the data transmission time, the scheme, allocated method of time slot orderly and equally, to avoid channel resources surplus, and the scheme, aggregating a sub-frame in backward way, to reduce the number of retransmission, proposed algorithm achieves the effect of increasing network throughput and improving channel utilization. Theoretical analysis verifies the effectiveness of HSU-AP. Simulation results show that compared with high efficiency fairness-media access control (HEF-MAC), HSU-AP increases the network throughput in MAC layer 26.95%, and improves channel utilization 28.02% in the case of network saturation.
